Prima Cantina was fortunately not directly damaged by the Palisades fires, but the situation still affected us. We experienced temporary closures, a slowdown in business, and challenges related to smoke, safety concerns, and limited access to the area.
The community’s support has been incredible — many locals checked in on us, helped spread the word once we reopened, and made an effort to support small businesses in the area. We’re very grateful for that.
Before the fires, the community was lively, active, and closely connected. It has always been a place where people know each other, support local businesses, and come together during difficult times — and the fire really highlighted that strong sense of community even more.
Unfortunately, the recovery has not been enough. If business does not improve, and if the city and local officials do not establish clearer rules regarding food trucks and street vendors, we may not be able to keep our doors open much longer. It is a difficult situation, and closures could become unavoidable.
For now, we are doing everything we can to stay open. But with the economy being what it is, we need the community’s support now more than ever to keep going and avoid shutting our doors.
Please spread the word, come by, and support the businesses — like ours — that took the risk of reopening early to bring some relief to workers, to those returning home, and to help restore even a small sense of normalcy.
